What type of vehicles do you accept?

We accept all cars vans and bikes.

Selling your car couldn't be easier. All you need to do is call us on 01924 365592. An arrangement will be made for one of our staff to come and view your vehicle. They will then make you a formal offer. A cash payment will be made to you and your car will be taken away.

Do you sell spare parts?

Yes. At Parts Planet, we stock a wide range of car parts. Just tell us what part you're looking for. We'll do our utmost to find what you need by searching our parts database.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Wakefield, Yorkshire. Due to our central location, we are able to pick up cars within a radius of 50 miles.

Do you recycle cars?

Yes. We recycle cars in an environmentally friendly way and try to re-use parts wherever possible. All vehicles are dismantled carefully and we dispose of all chemicals safely. We are regulated by the Environmental Agency and comply with all current environmental standards.

Do you have a license to take back and treat my scrap car?

Parts Planet is fully licensed and operates an intelligent de-pollution method to dispose of any unwanted material. We work closely with the DVLA, who will issue a Certificate of Destruction. This will be forwarded to your address by post.

What is a certificate of destruction?

A certificate of destruction is an important piece of legal documentation that states that your vehicle has been destructed in a lawful and environmentally friendly manner. Without proper de-registration of your vehicle you could be fined under new laws.

It is important that you receive this documentation as you are still legally responsible for the vehicle. If you don't receive a certificate of destruction from us within 14 days please let us know.

What is an ELV?

ELV stands for End of Life Vehicle and relates to a car that is ready to be scrapped or salvaged.

Do I need to give you my vehicle log book?

We would usually recommend that you provide us with a fully detailed log book, however we can take vehicles even when you don't have a log book.

How do I reclaim my unused road tax?

If you have any road tax remaining when you dispose of your scrap car, as long as you were the registered keeper of the car at the time of disposal, you can reclaim any unused complete months. Please refer to the DVLA website for instructions of how to do this.
